Baudilaine, a story of yarn and family

It all begins in the early 20th century, in Verviers, the world capital of wool. Nicolas Baudinet founds a weaving mill there, later developed by his son Prosper in the 1950s, then transformed into a textile factory by Pierre, the third generation, in the 1970s.

In 1988, Pierre opens a knitting yarn shop in the heart of the former family factory, offering brands such as Katia, Lammy Yarns and Annell.

In 2012, with the arrival of Fabian, a new chapter begins: renovation of the shop, partnerships with Italian spinning mills, the creation of our own label, and the launch of online sales. Baudilaine is born.

Since then, our exclusive yarns sit alongside our long-standing partners, as well as leading brands such as Lana Grossa, Phildar and DMC and their creative catalogues.

Baudilaine is 500 m² entirely dedicated to the passion for yarn: thousands of balls of wool, endless creative ideas and a warm world spread across 3 halls to inspire all your knitting and crochet projects.

Baudilaine is also a spacious knitting café that can welcome up to 120 enthusiasts, a friendly place where people share advice, creativity and wonderful friendships around a shared passion.

Need technical advice? The ladies of the knitting café will be delighted to guide you and support you in creating your projects.
