Quel Pied ! is a design for comfortable, hard-wearing socks, conceived to offer keen knitters the pleasure of a great knitting classic. Knitted entirely in the round on circular needles, they fit the shape of the foot perfectly and have no seam under the sole — for optimal everyday comfort, in town shoes as in winter boots.

The Casual Chaussette yarn, a blend of 75% virgin wool and 25% polyamide, is specially formulated to withstand wear: the wool brings warmth and breathability, the polyamide the strength to resist the rubbing of the heel and toe. Your handmade socks will accompany you season after season.

A technical, rewarding project

Quel Pied ! is a complete pattern that will let you discover or perfect the essential techniques of sock knitting: knitting in the round on circular needles, forming the short-row heel, and finishing the toe by grafting (invisible stitches). The pattern details each step, and the short-row technique is illustrated step by step at the end of the document.

If you have never knitted socks, it is an ideal project for taking the plunge: demanding but accessible, with great satisfaction at the end. For experienced knitters, it is a classic to make in all the colours of the Casual Chaussette range.

A pattern designed to guide you

The design is explained step by step in an illustrated leaflet, available in seven languages (French, Dutch, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese). The pattern covers three shoe sizes: 37/39, 40/42 and 43/45, with all the stitch, row and decrease instructions clearly detailed.

Stitches used: circular stocking stitch, circular 1×1 rib, short rows, grafting.
Tension: 29 stitches and 38 rows to 10×10 cm, n°2.5 needles.
Level: intermediate — estimated making time between 10 and 20 hours.
